HAKKI AFRICA (PTY) LTD ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. This policy explains what data we collect when you apply to rent a fleet vehicle, how we use it, and your rights under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Information we collect

When you apply for a fleet vehicle we may collect your name, contact details, ID or work permit, driver's licence and Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) details, proof of address, and other documents required to assess your application. Once you're driving a HAKKI vehicle, we also collect vehicle telematics data, including location, speed and driving behaviour, through the fitted tracking device.

How we use your information

We use your information to assess your rental application, process and manage your rental agreement, monitor and maintain fleet vehicles (including via telematics), administer insurance claims, communicate with you, comply with legal and regulatory requirements, and improve our services.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with our insurance providers, Bolt as our ridehailing partner, telematics service providers, regulatory authorities and other service providers who assist us in delivering our services, under appropriate confidentiality obligations.

Your rights
